Outdoor concrete takes the worst abuse of any surface around your home. Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles crack rigid coatings. UV exposure fades and yellows cheap products. Rain, snow, and ice melt test every square inch. Our exterior coating systems are specifically formulated to handle it all.
Built for Wisconsin Winters
The key to exterior coatings in our climate is flexibility. Concrete expands and contracts dramatically through Wisconsin's temperature swings — from -20°F to 90°F and everything in between. A rigid coating (like epoxy) will crack and delaminate within the first winter. Our flexible urethane basecoat systems move with the concrete through every freeze-thaw cycle without separating.
Exterior Coating Systems
We offer two primary exterior systems depending on the application:
- Exterior Quartz System: Graded kiln-dried silica sand broadcast for stoops, walkways, and high-traffic exterior areas. Excellent traction in all weather conditions.
- Decorative Flake System: For covered patios, porches, and three-season rooms that get UV exposure but less direct weather.
Safety First
All exterior applications include anti-slip aggregate in the topcoat for safe footing in wet and icy conditions. We can adjust the level of texture based on the application — more aggressive for steps and stoops, smoother for covered patios where you want bare-foot comfort.
Why Not Just Seal It?
Acrylic sealers are inexpensive, but they wear off quickly (12-24 months) and provide minimal protection. Our full coating systems create a thick, durable surface that lasts years, not months. The upfront cost is higher, but you're not re-applying every spring.
